Obituary for Jorge Garza Pharr, Texas Mr Jorge Garza entered eternal rest on Wednesday April 25, 2018 in Edinburg at the age of 94 years. Jorge was born on Nov. 3, 1923 in Santa Cruz Ranch in Delmita Starr County, Texas to Amado and Maria S. Garza.
Jorge proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946. Jorge grew up at the Santa Cruz Ranch. He was a past resident of Mission, had resided in Pharr for the past 45 years.
Jorge,along with his previous wife Otila, were the owners and founders of The Round up Restaurant in Pharr for many years. Jorge enjoyed traveling, going to baseball games (Houston Astros) and spending time with family especially his grandchildren. Jorge was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Romualdo Garza and a sister in law Albesa R Garza.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Elia Garza of Weslaco; Children- Iselda (Carlos Garcia) Garza of Mission, Romualdo (Yolanda Guerra) Garza of Edinburg; grandchildren-Dominique, Brianna, Romualdo; Siblings- Gilberto (Emma) Garza of Edinburg, Lupita (Adan) Galvan, Ernestina (Leonel) Reyna, Aurora (Jose) Vega all from Mission and an extended nieces/nephews. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday,April 29, 2018 at Rivera Funeral Home,1813 N. Conway in Mission from 1 pm to 9 pm with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 6 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday,April 30, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Mission at 1:00 PM.
