Jorge L. Lopez ELSA TX, formerly of LEIPSIC – Jorge L. Lopez, 90, of Elsa TX, formerly of Leipsic, died Friday, July 20, 2018 in Weslaco, TX. He was born April 13, 1928 in Edinburg, TX to the late Gabriel and Bernarda (Salinas) Lopez. On February 19, 1961, he married Maria M. Gonzalez.

She died June 6, 1998. Survivors include a son, Martin (Leanette) Lopez of Bowling Green, KY; three daughters: Maribel (Bobby) Romero of Leipsic, Michaella (Jeremy) Whalen of Pleasant Hill and Martha Gonzalez of Karnes City, TX; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Juliana Salinas of Elsa, TX He was also preceded in death by four brothers: Epifanio Lopez, Braulio Lopez, Jacobo Lopez and Guadalupe Lopez; and five sisters: Estefana Mendoza, Cueita Lopez, Santos Cantu, Ildefonsa Lopez and Ildefonsa Moya. Jorge retired from Libby’s formerly of Leipsic.

He was a member of The Fountain of Life Church, Leipsic. His greatest joys were his entire family and singing loudly to the Lord. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at LOVE HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic with Pastor Jose Zamora and Pastor Rosa Perez officiating.

Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.
