He was born, December 8, 1943 in Raymondville, son of Jose Mendosa Maria Zoila (Leyva) Lopez. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for over 24 years.

Surviving are his wife, Amelia Flores and son, Joey Lopez, daughters, Norma Lopez, Carmelita Lopez, sister, Terry Salinas. Visitation will be held Thursday December 13, 2018 with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the Duddlesten Funeral Home, Raymondville, TX. Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Friday, December 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m..

Interment will follow in the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, Mission, Texas. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Duddlesten Funeral Home, 604 W. Hidalgo Ave. , Raymondville, Texas.
