OBITUARY Jose Isabel Plasencia November 19, 1921 – July 13, 2018 Plasencia, Jose (Cheo) 96, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2018, at his home in Tampa. Jose was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba and in 1967 he brought his family to Tampa. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Carmen.

He was survived by his daughter, Dania Sellers and son Dr. Daniel Plasencia (Nilda) both of Tampa. He was loved by his grandchildren, Glen Sellers of Auburn, Al, Lina Fairchild (Jordan) of Houston, Tx, Patricia Davis of Tampa, Carmen Plasencia of Miami, Danny “Tuto” Plasencia (Julie) of Louisville, KY, and his eight great-grandchildren. He served as Deacon at Iglesia Redencion (Iglesia Bautista Latinoamericana) for 30 years.

He was a faithful man of God, patient husband, sacrificial father, fun Abuelo and on that made roasting a pig en “La Caja China” look easy. He was also a talented carpenter who created beautiful pieces that will be cherished by his family for years to come. Beautiful, loving memories will always be in the hearts of his family and friends.

Pallbearers are Glen Sellers, Danny Plasencia, Thomas Davis, Juan Plasencia, Rodolfo Plasencia, Dr. Javier Lorenz, Dr. Juan Young, Lorenzo Cordoves and Honorary Tristan Sellers. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Children Hospital Foundation. Visitation will take place at 9:30 AM Tuesday, July 17th and funeral service starting at 10:45 AM at Grace Family Church (5100 W. Waters Avenue Tampa, Florida 33634) Entombment will immediately follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Tampa.
