OBITUARY Josefa C Lerma April 5, 1931 – January 25, 2019 MCALLEN- Josefa C. Lerma,87, left to be with the Lord on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Amara Hospice in Edinburg. She was born to Felipe & Elogia Cantu on April 5, 1931 in Mercedes, Texas. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children:Nelly (Joaquin) Alvarez, Teofilo (Irene) Lerma Jr., Mirthala (Daniel) Anne Zepeda, Jerry (Stephanie) Lerma; sister: Felipa Carrillo; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Josefa has been a pillar of strength for her family. She was a provider and protector and encouraged them to strive for an education. She was faithful, reading her bible although her eyesight was failing, and she enjoyed talking to everyone she met.

She is loved and will be greatly missed. Family will receive friends Monday, January 28, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary recited at 7 pm at Funeraria Del Angel in Mission. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 10:00 AM, tentatively, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, McAllen, Texas.

An inurnment will take place Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 11:15 AM at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www. funerariadelangelmission.com for the Lerma family.
