Joseph’s Obituary Joseph A. Moughan, 83, formerly of Hellertown, died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Phoebe Healthcare Center, Richlandtown. He is the husband of the late Mercedes A. (Machain) Moughan, who died January 1, 2018, and were married 54 years. Joseph was born in Pittston on February 16, 1935 to the late Joseph and Nora (Best) Moughan.

He worked as a purchasing agent for Air Products until retiring. Prior, he had worked for the CIA in VA. He also worked as a bartender for the former Bethlehem Steel Club, Hellertown and the Tally Ho Tavern, Bethlehem.

Joseph served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during Peacetime. He is a member of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus RC Church, Hellertown. He also was a member of the Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397, Hellertown and was a social member of the Dewey Fire Company, Hellertown.

SURVIVORS Children: Christopher J. (Lisa J.) Moughan of Hellertown, Tara M. (Miguel A.) Moughan Nieto of Fountain Hill, Marlee Wilson of Hellertown; grandchildren: Andrew J. Nieto, Connor P. Moughan, Liam J. Moughan, Madison S. Wilson, Aidan J. Wilson, Maya C. Nieto and Sofia C. Nieto. Predeceased by a son: Sean; a sister: Marilyn Baccanari. SERVICE Family and friends are invited to call 6 – 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 and 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street – Hellertown followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at his church, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown.

The interment will be held privately at the Holy Saviour Cemetery, Bethlehem. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at: www. heintzelmancares.com.
