Obituary for Joseph Boyed “Joe” Walker III Vardaman—Joseph Boyed “Joe” Walker, III, 64, passed away peacefully at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo on Thursday, November 29, 2018. Born July 9, 1954 in Ft Benning, Ga, he was the son of the late Joseph Boyd Walker, Jr. and the late Mary Doris Bessimere Walker. He was a 1973 graduate of Vardaman High School, and a member of New Providence Baptist Church.

He also spent many years as a forklift operator at Tecumseh Products in Verona, MS. Joe was an avid fan of the Ole Miss Rebels and the Denver Broncos. But if he wasn’t watching football, he could usually be found in the woods deer hunting or on the water fishing.

A true outdoorsman, he loved to be outside enjoying nature. Above all, he loved his family, and cherished the time he spent with his grandkids. He was a big man with a kind heart and a gentle soul.

He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends. Pryor Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Walker family. A funeral service celebrating his life will be held Monday, December 3, 2018, at 2:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home.

There will also be a visitation on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the funeral home. Bro. Jon Stewart will be officiating.

Interment will follow at New Providence Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Christian, William Walker, Greg Presley, Dakota Walker, Preston Bullard, and Brian Funderburk. Honorary pallbearers will be Beau Walker, Seth Walker, William Nowlin, and Brandon Walker.

He leaves behind his wife, Sheila Ellis Walker of Tupelo; his children, Boyd Walker and his wife Brittney of Pontotoc, Christy Bullard of Houston, Jason Walker and his wife Kayla of Pontotoc, Chris Jones of Big Creek, and Katrina Murphy and her husband Nick of Tupelo; his grandchildren, Madison Bullard, Preston Bullard, Isabella Bullard, Beau Walker, Seth Walker, Hannah Nowlin, William Nowlin, Dakota Walker, and Jaycie Walker, Jolie Murphy, and Derrick Murphy; and his sister, Donna Walker Yahne of Venice, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sgt. Joseph Boyed Walker, Jr. and Mary Walker.
