Obituary for Joseph E. Taylor Joseph E. Taylor, 95, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 peacefully after a brief illness. He was born on February 19, 1923 in Springfield to Leland and Marie (McNeil) Taylor. Joseph graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1941.

He served his country in the US Army, retired from Wren’s Dept Store and was a past president of the GRC Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. Joseph was proceeded in death by his parents; by his wife of over 62 years, Carol (Cooch) Taylor; and by a daughter, Cindy Seifer. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Joe (Mary Beth) Taylor and David (Cathy Renner) Taylor; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors who will miss him dearly.
