Joseph J. Kagan, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Born in Holyoke to the late Joseph Sr. and Stasia (Rojsza) Kagan, he was a Mechanical Engineer at United Technologies and retired from Hamilton Standard. Joe was an active communicant of St. Michael’s Church in East Longmeadow and a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, he also loved attending his grandchildren’s games. He enjoyed fishing, fixing cars, working on model airplanes and trains. The legacy he leaves to his family is a positive attitude in life, he believed “everything was perfect”.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Dorothy (Drzyzga) Kagan, daughters; Jo-Anne Booth of Rocky Hill, CT, Lori Anne Lyne of Feeding Hills and Lynn Anne Champagne and her husband Marcel of Suffield, CT, his brother Richard Kagan and his wife Dorothy, sisters; Janice Kagan and Pauline Thompson and her husband David, seven grandchildren; Jessica (Seth), Meghann, Shawn (Kaitlyn), Tyler, Brittany, Alexa and Trevor, 2 great grandchildren; Luke and Isla and several nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his brother William. Family and Friends may meet for Joe’s Funeral Mass on Wednesday, June 20th at 10am in St. Michael’s Church, 110 Maple St., E. Long.

Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee. WILBRAHAM FUNERAL HOME is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or to the St. Michael’s Parish Outreach Fund, c/o St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
