Joseph Michael Morello, Saginaw, Michigan. Beloved father, grandfather and brother passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Saginaw Senior Care. Age 93 years.

Son of the late John and Rose (Bommarito) Morello, Joseph was born February 26, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan moving to Saginaw as a young boy. He married Doris Mae Lawler, his loving wife of 63 years, on May 7, 1949 at St. Andrew Catholic Church. She predeceased him December 15, 2012.

Joe served in the U.S. Marine Corps. during WWII in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1945. He was in the 9th Regiment, 3rd Marine Division and saw action on the islands of Guam and Iwo Jima.

He was a member of V.F.W. Post #1566 and the American Legion Post #439. Joe was a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Helen Catholic Church. He was also a member of the M.H.S.A.A. and the Saginaw Officials Association officiating all sports.

He blew his whistle for 40 years! He retired from Saginaw Transmission with 35 years of service. Surviving to cherish his memory are two sons, two daughters and their spouses, John T. and Jeannie Morello, Esville; Mary Jo and Ronald Brownlie, Saginaw; Timothy and Ida Morello, Houston, Texas; Roberta A. Morello, Olympia, Washington; five grandchildren, Kevin, Paige, Jodi, Luke and Adam; one brother, Sam and Carol Morello, Saginaw; four sisters, Mary Willis, Catherine and Joseph Samuel, Saginaw; Ann and Chris Dulski, Perrysburg, Ohio; Margaret Bruggeman, Oldsmar, Florida; a special sister-in-law, Mary Helen Sipiala and her family; many nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Morello, a sister-in-law, Lois Morello and a brother-in-law, Ron Bruggeman. The family would like to thank the many caregivers who provided such wonderful care and love over the years including Fresenius Medical Care of Saginaw Riverside (Dialysis Center), Commission on Aging, and Saginaw Senior Care and Rehab Center. Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2019 at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Helen Catholic Church, 2445 N. Charles St., Saginaw.

Rev. Fr. Ronald F. Wagner will officiate.

Burial will take place in St. Andrew Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #439. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.

The Rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. and a Vigil Service will take place at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
