Joseph S. Scarfo, 75, of Torrington, CT, passed unexpectedly Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Angela (Randazzo) Scarfo for 47 years. Joe was born July 26, 1943, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Salvatore C. and Carmella (Rinaldi) Scarfo.

He served his country with the US Air Force, honorably discharged during June of 1970. He was employed by Somers Thin Strip as a Data Processing Manager. Joe enjoyed golfing, watching the NY Yankees baseball games and the UCONN Women’s Basketball games and was a member of the Elks Lodge #372.

His greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife Angela, he is survived four children, Karen Thomas and her husband Ken of Torrington, Michael Scarfo and his wife Lindsay Jauss of Plainville, Thomas Scarfo and his partner Melissa Power of Bristol, Jennifer Linden and her husband Brad of Simsbury; one brother, Dr. John Scarfo and his wife Dr. Marie-Anne Denayer of Southington; twelve grandchildren, Robbie Albreada, Michaelanne Albreada, AJ Albreada, Kayla Scarfo, Austin Linden, Brady Scarfo, Ava Linden, Lizzie Hurd, Lily Scarfo, Aiden Linden, Domenick Scarfo, and Cameron Scarfo. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington to St. Peter Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish) 99 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery with full military honors accorded.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Torrington Area Families for Autism (www. litchfieldarc.org/autism-support.
