Josephine (Phyllis) Giardina Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister and Aunt, 89 Mrs. Josephine (Phyllis) Giardina, 89, of Nutley, NJ, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018. The funeral will be conducted from the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley, 540 Franklin Avenue on Wednesday, June 20 at 8:30 a.m. There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 9:30 a.m. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 19 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. The interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Mrs. Giardina was born in Newark and lived in the Vailsburg section of Newark before moving to Nutley 20 years ago.

She formerly co-owned the Vailsburg Inn with her late husband Thomas Giardina in the 1970’s before working in Nutley as a School Crossing Guard. Mrs. Giardina is survived by her loving children, Thomas Giardina, Angela Giardina, Cindy Guglielmello and her husband Lenny; her sister Georgann Malanga and her husband Jay; her cherished grandchildren Lisa Cacchiola, Robert Cacchiola and his wife Joy and Angelo and Adriana Guglielmello. Her precious great grandchildren Gianna, Alexa, Ava, Thomas and Olivia.

She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Thomas Giardina, her son Paul Giardina and her niece Denice Malanga.
