Obituary of Joseph Poloskey Joseph Poloskey “Joe” “Jozsi” Age 81, of Joliet, IL passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. He was born April 12, 1937 in Acsalag, Hungary, and bravely left his beloved family and homeland for the United States in 1956 and settled in Joliet, IL. He worked as a Machinist for Caterpillar Inc. and retired from Cat after 38 years.

Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Croatian Club, and served on the Board of Directors for Cornerstone Services for many years. Jozsi was also known for hosting and attending Hungarian functions that included all of his fellow Hungarian refugees whom he considered his family in America. He loved sharing his culture with his family through music and trips back home to Hungary.

Joe is survived by his special companion, Margaret Kelly; four beloved children, Elizabeth (Gregory) Ruettiger, John Poloskey, Eva (Mark) Osborn and Michael (Laurie) Poloskey; and 11 grandchildren who brought him so much joy, Shelby, Benjamin, Cassandra, Alyssa, Carly, Brianna, Joseph, Shea, Lindsey, Parker and Elle. He is also survived by Claudette (nee Williams) Nemanich, Nora (nee Williams) Dixon, Robert Williams, John Williams, Carol (nee Williams) Southcombe in addition to numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends both in the United States and Hungary. He was preceded by his beloved wife, Charlene (nee Williams) Poloskey (1977); his parents, Janos and Erzsebet (nee Csiszar) Poloskey; parents-in-law, Claude and Theresa Williams; sister, Margit Sipos (2009); and brother, Janos Poloskei (2012).

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Maria Jaseckova, Joan Richards, Amanda Eddington and his grandson, Benjamin Ruettiger, for the excellent care they provided in his final months. Visitation for Joseph Poloskey will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018, from 1:00 until time of funeral service at 5:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black at Essington Rds. , Joliet.
