Joseph Resanovich, 92, of Canton, passed away on December 21, 2018 with his family by his side. He was born on September 11, 1926 in Grozdansko, Yugoslavia to the late Milos and Julka (Dobrich) Resanovich. He married the love of his life, Louise Susich on February 13, 1955 and they shared 63 wonderful years together.

Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII, as well as the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church where he was also President of the Congregation for over twenty years and a member of their Men’s Club. In addition to his involvement with the church, Joe was a 32nd degree F & AM Lodge # 431, A.A.S.R.

Valley of Canton, member of the VFW, Past President of the Forman’s Club in Massillon, and a volunteer special deputy with the Stark County Sheriff’s Office. Joe was employed by Timken where he was a general supervisor and retired after 40 years of service. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Louise; children Ellen Resanovich-Welsh, Joseph (Susan) Resanovich and Paula (Michael) Resanovich-Weaver; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and the 12th one coming soon; brothers Pete (Patricia) Resanovich and George Resanovich; and sister-in-law Roberta Resanovich.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his two brothers and sister-in-law Nichola (Jackie) Resanovich, Alex Resanovich and son-in-law Paul Welsh. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 5- 8 p.m. at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in North Canton. A Pomen Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. A funeral will take place at the church on Friday, December 28th at 11 a.m. with calling hours one hour prior to the service.

Fr. Aleska Pavichevich officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens where military honors will be rendered.
