Joy (Miesner) Rogers, 84, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on December 18, 1934 to Otto and Edna (Rhotramel) Miesner in Wagoner County, Blue Mounds Township. Joy graduated from Muskogee Central High School with the Class of 1953.

She was a budget clerk for 26 years at OG&E then worked at Muskogee County Treasurer’s Office for 20 years until her retirement in 2015. Joy loved her family very much and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Joy was preceded in death her parents, Otto and Edna Miesner; siblings, Ralph Miesner, JoAnn Reynolds, and Shirley Peebles; sisters-in-law, Rose Miesner and Betty Miesner; and nephew, Paul Arcee. She is survived by her children, Sharon Jorski and husband Don of Oklahoma City, OK, Karen Del Tatto and husband Marc of Katy, TX, and Mark Davis of Muskogee, OK; grandson, Jason Jorski of New Berlin, WI; brother, Richard Miesner and wife Dee; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Joy’s Good Shepherd Hospice team and Cathy, her caregiver and friend, for their loving care.

Joy’s family will be receiving friends 5:30PM-7:30PM, Monday, January 21, 2018 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel. A celebration of Joy’s life will be 10AM, Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Myers officiating.
