Obituary for Joyce Conn Ellington Joyce Conn Ellington, 91, of Atlanta and formerly oRome, died Thursday morning, January 3, 2019 in an Atlanta health care facility. A native of Rome, Mrs. Elington was born March 31, 1927 daughter of the late Joseph William Conn, Sr. and Ruby Holbrook Conn. She had been a resident of Atlanta since the 1960’s and was employed by the Social Security Administration.

She was a graduate of West Georgia College and the University of Georgia. In her youth she was a member of the West Rome Baptist Church. She and her late husband James “Jimmy” Ellington were members of the Second Ponce De Leon Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ellington was preceded in death by a sister Mrs. Emma Harwell. Survivors include two sons Clay Ellington and Conn Ellington, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral and interment services will be conducted at 11 AM Sunday January 6 at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Reverend Billy Rabern officiating.

The family will greet friends from 10:30 until the service hour at the cemetery. Parnick Jennings Sr.’s Good Shepherd Funeral Home is serving the family of Joyce Conn Ellington.
