Joyce Lynnette Ross Smith June 7, 1936 ~ April 26, 2018 Joyce Lynnettte Ross Smith was born June 7, 1936 in Ogden, Utah. She passed away peacefully April 26, 2018 at Ogden Regional Hospital. Cause of death was age related complications.

She is the daughter of James Bryan Ross and Harriet Jones Ross. Joyce graduated from Weber High School and attended Nursing School at Weber State. Her work history included Legal Secretarial work.

She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she held many positions. Teaching primary became a great joy for Joyce she absolutely loved the kids and looked forward to being with them every week. Joyce is survived by her daughters Becky Robin, Virginia Ubando, and Jennifer Slot, and her sister Barbara Porter.

She has thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren all who loved her very much. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Steve and her sister Noreen. Joyce had the ability to file away the wave of emotions she experienced throughout her life.

She had many hurtful emotions as well as many loving, affectionate emotions. She was very good at holding those feelings inside. She simply took life as it came and never seemed to complain about anything.

She was a tower of stability and just talking to her for a few moments gave you a feeling of comfort and acceptance. She just made you feel like a friend. Joyce touched the hearts of many people and she will always be remembered for her gentle, loving personality.

She was one of those rare people who just could not say no to anyone. She was a loving mother and grandmother and she will be sincerely missed by many. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at the Regal Country Ward, 3939 West 4000 South, West Haven.

The family will meet with friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Hooper City Cemetery. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
