Joyce May Slaton Kirk, 81 , of Vermilion, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 She was born in Earlington, KY on August 18, 1937 to the late Marvin and Lena Whitfield Slaton. She was a member of Barber Ave Church in Terra Haute, IN. She had worked as a Filler Operator for Pfizer Pharmaceutical and as a food demonstrator at Sams Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Kirk and her son, Michael Kirk, Sr.. She is survived by two grandchildren: Michael Kirk, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Vermilion, IL and Shane Kirk of Worthington, IN; four great grandchildren: Michael Kirk III, Austin Kirk, Sophie Kirk, and Spencer Kirk . Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Grapevine Cemetery in Madisonville, KY with Pastor Bob Rousch officiating.
