Obituary for J.T. Shumate J.T. Shumate, 85, of Little Rock passed away Friday, August 31, 2018. He was born April 30, 1933 in Greenbrier, Arkansas to Bob and Vivian Shumate. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Shumate; parents; four brothers and six sisters.

J.T. is survived by his children, Tim (Sharon) Shumate, Tina (Steve) Harrod, Bobby (Brandi) Shumate and Rodney Shumate; grandchildren, Magen (Jared) Rodriguez, Morgan Shumate, Colton Harrod, Savannah (William) Morgan, Blakelea (Stephen) Leach, Madison Shumate and Jayden Shumate; great-grandchildren, Ellery, Adler, Hunter and Brianna; his favorite dog, Prissy; and several other family, friends and loved ones. He proudly served in the United States Army and served his country honorably. He was a truck driver for many years, where he eventually retired from Hall Tank Company.

He was a graduate of North Little Rock High School in 1952. He was a deacon at Grace Baptist Church in North Little Rock. He loved his coffee, cigars, dog, music, and family.

A visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home. Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
