Juanita Jeanette Naylor age 103, of Ashland, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018 at Life Care Hospice in Wooster. She was born February 2, 1915 in Richland County, the daughter of Jay and Ona Mae (Allenbaugh) Carpenter. Juanita had been employed with the Nankin Elementary School and Mapleton High Schools for 22 years where she was a Cook.

She had also cleaned houses and provided in home care for the Elderly before and after retirement. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, the Golden Serenades Choir, enjoyed attending the Ashland Senior Center. She also enjoyed entertaining people with her variety of jokes.

On June 27, 1931 Juanita married Orlo F. Naylor who preceded her in death in 1992. Survivors include her children, Annette Garver of Wooster, Delores “Dee” Robinson of Mansfield, and Raymond (Annette) Naylor of Bryan Texas; her grandchildren, Lora (Jeff) Thompson, Michelle (Michael) Smith, Christine (Larry) Booth, R. Loren (Monica) Naylor, Brooke (Robert) Cortez, Jennifer (Shane) Izard, Brittany (Derek) Gibson, and Holly Naylor; her great grandchildren, Brittany, JR (Erica), Zachary (Laken), Cierra, Cassie, Ethan, Noah, Kaylee, Camryn, Jacob, Scarlett and Brodie; her great- great grandchildren, Dahlia and Owen; along with her brother, Richard (Shirley) Carpenter; and sister, Betty Miller. In addition to her husband Orlo, Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; son, Orlo Jr.; 6 brothers; and 6 sisters.

Celebration of Life service will be held at Heyl Funeral Home on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Harry Strachan officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Juanita’s memory to the Cat House Sanctuary at 1130 E. Main St., P.O. Box 136 Ashland, Ohio 44805.
