Juanita Mae Baier, 74, of North Port passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. She was the daughter of Marguerite and Herman “Pete” Williams, born October 20, 1943 on Chincoteague Island, Virginia. Juanita grew up on Chincoteague Island and graduated high school there.

She later moved to Northern Virginia area and worked for the U. S. Government in various capacities. During the early 1980’s Juanita met and married her husband of 37 years, John Baier. After leaving as Chief Budget Officer of the Defense Communications Agency they retired to Chincoteague Island before moving to North Port in the mid-nineties.

During this time, she became passionate about gardening, spending much of her day working in the yard. She also volunteered at several area churches, as well as other local charities. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Juanita will be greatly missed by her husband John; two step-daughters; five grandchildren (4 of whom are currently serving in the U.S. Military); two great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Williams; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held for Juanita at the Living Waters Lutheran Church on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. To express condolences to the family please visit www.
