Judith Lesh, 78 of Indian River passed away on January 5th, 2019 at her home. Judy was born on February 18, 1940 in Lansing, MI the daughter of Edward Oxendale and Onalee (Miller) Oxendale. She grew up in Dimondale and Warren Michigan and attended school at Warren Fitzgerald School District graduating in the class of 1957.

Judy moved to Indian River in 1999 after retiring from Sears. Her family, friends, and church family were held dearest in her heart. Judy enjoyed cross-stitch, nature and wildlife.

Judy had a passion for travel, she had traveled 48 states throughout her life. Many of her memories were made with her best friend of 76 years Josephine Edelman who preceded her in death. Judy was a funny woman with sarcasm and spunk who will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Judy is survived by her children David (Becky) Lesh and Sue (Scott) Parker, grandchildren Dylan and Jessica, brother Bruce Oxendale, her fur baby Molli, her grand-dogs, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James Oxendale, and sister-in-law Judy Oxendale. Services for Judy will be held at the Burt Lake Christian Church on Saturday, January 12, 2019.

Visitation will be held from 10-11am with a memorial service at 11am. A luncheon will follow. As a cancer survivor herself, Judy’s family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be directed to Karmanos Cancer Institute in Petoskey, MI or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
