Judith’s Obituary Judith M. Harrington, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 surrounded by family and friends in the tender care of the staff at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. Prior to her brief stay at Gosnell, Judy remained at home, where she loved to be. From her birth on December 12, 1939 to her death on Tuesday, Judy brought determination and humor to everything she did.

She was born in Melrose, Massachusetts to Thomas and Edith (Rhine) Harrington and was the youngest of three children. After graduating from high school, she attended Wheaton College and Drew University earning a Master of Social Work degree. During her life, she helped countless patients and their families handle medical crises with tireless compassion and understanding.

Judy did this at several hospitals including Mercy Hospital and Maine Medical Center, both in Portland. Judy was blessed with loving friends and will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor and commitment to others. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland.

The family will greet friends at the Hobbs Funeral Home from 12 PM until the time of service.
