Julia Evajean “Jean” Zimmerman, 90, Peru, passed away at 10:18 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at her residence. Born June 19, 1928, in Logansport, Indiana, she was the daughter of Earl and Elnora May Spillman. She was raised by Daniel F. and Edna May Chambers.

She married Joseph Wayne Zimmerman, Sr., and he preceded her in death. She was a member of Zion Chapel Church, Peru, Indiana. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, sewing, and baking, and she was known for her excellent baked goods, especially pies.

Survivors include a daughter, Deloris Couch, Peru; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Irvin Zimmerman and Joseph Zimmerman, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Rod Correll officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 9-11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. The online guestbook can be signed at www. mcclainfh.com.
