Julia M. Mowery, 70, of Salunga, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at home. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Mary Doris (Feldser) and Edward R. Mimm. Julia is the wife of Warren M. Mowery with whom she celebrated 26 years of marriage this past October 31st.

Julia retired from the Community Hospital in Lancaster as a Supervisor of Housekeeping. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Joy. Surviving in addition to her husband, Warren, is a daughter, Barbara Ann Shelton, wife of Kenneth of Columbia; two step sons, Warren R. Mowery Jr., husband of Carol of Harrisburg and Robert J. Mowery, husband of Barbara of Mount Joy; six grandchildren; a great grandchild; and five sisters, Esther Rhinier, wife of Larry of Lancaster, Shirley Hanlon of Lancaster, Diana Graham, wife of Dennis of Willow Street, Debra Hill, wife of Glenn of Gordonsville and Karen Roschel, wife of Joe of Lancaster.

A funeral service honoring Julia’s life will be held at Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc. 16 East Main Street, Mount Joy on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11 AM. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home before the service from 10 AM to 11 AM. Interment will follow at Hershey Cemetery in Intercourse.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 3001 Gettysburg Rd, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
