Julian’s Obituary Julian Lawrence Stone, 78, of Waycross, died Friday morning (March 8, 2019) at Memorial Satilla Health after an extended illness. Mr. Stone was born in Pearson, Georgia to the late Lucius and Mary Taft Stone and had made Waycross his home for most of his life. He retired from the Ware County School System as a custodian for many years and worked for Allied Timber before it’s closing.
He was a talented man known for his guitar and singing skills and used them frequently in a group with his wife, Julian, Sue & the Gospeliers. Mr. Stone was a man of faith and was a member New Beginnings Holy Ghost Tabernacle. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Louise Stone; three brothers, Ellis Stone, Horace Stone and Randall Stone.
Mr. Stone is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sue Sikes Stone of Waycross; two brothers-in-law, Joe Sikes wife Julie of Blackshear, Roy Sikes wife Sandra of Surrency, Georgia; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A funeral service will be held Sunday (March 10, 2019) at 2:00pm at New Beginnings Holy Ghost Tabernacle. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 1:00pm at the church.
