Jun Tokashiki, 66, of Neptune, NJ passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. He was born in Okinawa, Japan and later moved to Osaka, Japan and studied the culinary arts. He then moved to the United States and pursued his life-long passion of making sushi.

He owned and operated Isohama Japanese Restaurant in Point Pleasant, NJ for many years. He spent his later years working as a sushi chef at Taka Restaurant in Asbury Park, NJ. Jun enjoyed spending his free time with family.

He will be most remembered for his kindness and gentle manner. He is survived by his wife Inez, daughter, Jamie Canataro, and her husband Joe and granddaughter Lela of Mount Laurel, and two brothers. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service from 10:00am – 12:00pm on Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Ely Funeral Home, Neptune.
