June Hodges Woods December 25, 1937-May 29, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of June Hodges Woods of New Market, Alabama and Hartselle, Alabama. She was 80 years old at the time of her death. She passed away Tuesday morning.

June was a Christmas baby, born on December 25, 1937 in Nashville, TN. She was the second child, and the first daughter, of the late John Pruitt and Juanita Hatcher Hodges. June was preceded in death by her first son, James Arthur Woods, who passed in 1959.

She is survived by her former husband, James Oscar Woods from New Market; her brother, John Gary Hodges and wife Sue from Hueytown; her son Daniel Pruitt Woods and wife Marilyn from Eva; and her daughter Treasa Lynn Miller and husband James from New Market. A special thanks to Danny Yarbrough, a special friend, who helped attend June during this traumatic time. June is also survived by her four grandchildren, Mary Ann Cleckler and husband Jonathan of Clanton; Gary Pruitt Woods and wife Jill from Decatur; Jessica June Drappier from New Market; and Connor (Jennifer Anne) Drappier from New Market.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 31, from 3:00 – 5:00PM at Peck Funeral Home. The funeral will take place in the chapel immediately following the visitation with Reverend Tim Clark officiating. Burial will be at Hartselle Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, June requested that donations be made to the First Christian Church of Hartselle’s youth group. She wanted to help them with their many missionary projects.
