Obituary for June Almeda (Miller) June M. Miller Almeda, 96, formerly of Greene Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at Pleasant Ridge Manor. She was born in Erie on June 3, 1922 a daughter of the late Christopher and Helen Herbert Miller. June was a 1939 graduate of Academy High School and went on to work as an assembler for 15 years at Erie Technological and most recently worked at PNC Bank for 19 years before retiring in 1990.

She was an active member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and was also a member of the Ushers Club. She belonged to the Kuhl Hose Co. and Siebenbuerger Club Ladies Auxiliaries, the Greene Township Seniors, and several community organizations. She was honored as Citizen of the Year by the Greene Township Lions Club and she especially enjoyed traveling.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Almeda; one granddaughter, Joelle Jane Hemme; two brothers, Donald and Richard Miller; and one sister, Dolores Leighton. Survivors include four daughters, Mary Ann Santi and her husband, Charles, of Erie, Judy Almeda of Wyoming, Jane Cooney and her husband, Jack, of Erie, and June “Sis” Yurchak and her husband, Terry, of Wattsburg; three sons, William Almeda of Union City, Christopher Almeda and his wife, Patty, of McKean, and Joseph Almeda and his wife, Jennifer, of Corry; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; one brother, Gerard Miller of Erie; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd.

, on Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. and on Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass there at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in Mount of Olives Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church, 9367 Wattsburg Rd.
