OBITUARY June Parks Shelton August 24, 1926 – December 28, 2018 June Parks Shelton, age 92, of Shreveport, Louisiana went home to be with her Lord and Savior, peacefully with her daughter, Mary and granddaughter, Meghan by her side on Friday December 28, 2018. A celebration of her life will occur Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until the time of service.

An interment will occur immediately following the services at Centuries Memorial Park. June was born August 24, 1926 in Noxapater, Mississippi. She moved to Shreveport after meeting the love of her life Ray Shelton.

June worked at various places around town but mainly was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a Charter Member of Morningside Baptist Church, where she faithfully served the Lord by helping with G.A.’s, singing in the choir and teaching children for over 35 years. Her favorite pastimes were cooking, sewing, gardening, and demoing food in the local grocery stores.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Jackson and Lillie Leons Parks; husband, Ray Shelton; son, Robert Earl Shelton; and sister, Kathleen Hemphill. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Shelton; Barbara Skinner (David); son, Donald Ray; grandchildren, Meghan Trybus and Chris Skinner; brothers, Bobby Parks(Dot), Mack Parks, Billy Parks (Becky) and Albert Parks (Joyce) of Mississippi. Serving, as pallbearers are Denny Morrison, Mike Western, Junstin Western, Dickie Smith and Bob Trybus.
