June M. (Phillips) Davis Hanauer, 91, peacefully passed away at home after a hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s on July 19, 2018. She was born in Oneida, TN on April 30, 1927, the daughter of the late George and Carrie Phillips. June worked at GenTel until her retirement in 1989.

She was a member of Wallen Baptist Church for over 60 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, and collecting Beanie Babies and antiques. She was exceptionally great at video games, including Nintendo.

June was everybody’s favorite Aunt, and all the kids enjoyed spending time playing at her home. Surviving are her daughter, Judy (Roy) Grider; sister, Pearl Jeffers; sister-in-law, Rose Phillips; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, James Harold Davis; husband, Dalton Paul Hanauer; siblings, Mabel (Charlie) Pannell, Mary (Charlie) Davis, Ruby (Herbert) Cross, and Bobby Lee Phillips; and brother-in-law, Glen Jeffers.

Funeral service will be held at5pm on Monday, July 23, 2018 at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd. Fort Wayne, IN 46825, with calling from 2-5pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice in Fort Wayne, IN.

You may visit with the family on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 2p.m. until time of funeral service at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Hazel Valley Memorial Cemetery in Oneida, Tennessee. You may sign June’s online guestbook at www.
