James Kelsie Phillips, age 75 of Oneida, TN, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018. Born October 30, 1942 in Scott County, he was the son of the late Riley and Marie Acres Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Randall Lee Jeffers; brothers: Elbert Lee, Herbert Riley, Otho and Loyd Phillips; sisters: Shella Kaye ton, Judy Novella Kidd; brother-in-law: Roy Neal; in-laws: Guy C. and Anna Fortner Jeffers; brother-in-law: Harold Gene Jeffers; nephews: Harold Wayne and Gary Phillips; and niece: Donna Phillips.

He is survived by his wife: Ruth Ann Jeffers Phillips. He leaves sisters: JoAnn Phillips Boyatt and her children: Brandon Boyatt, and Bobbi Jo and Chris Copeland and son Cody Bond; Drucilla Phillips Roysden and husband Milford and children: Denny and Leslie Neal, and Missy and Shane Foster, all of Oneida; sister-in-law: Mary Phillips and daughter Robin and Curt Otto of Pea Ridge, AR; brother: Carmer D. and Sandra Phillips and their children: Shane, Carman and Tyler Phillips, Michelle and Andrew Shepherd; sister-in-law: Bobbie Jeffers West and Richard S. West, Sr. and their children: Rick and his daughter McKenzie Claire West, Tony West and his children Terry Samuel, Rachel Ann, and Alexis, Julie Ann and husband Robby Hammond and their children Weston Race and Annabella Hammond. Brothers-in-law: Ralph Jeffers and Don Jeffers; Don’s children: Curtis Jeffers and his children: William Jeffers all of Oneida and Tyler Jeffers from Nashville; and Waylon and Terry Jeffers and their children: Roland Clay and Isaac Jeffers from Oneida, and Sydnie Jeffers of Chattanooga, TN; sister-in-law: Katherine Phillips (Doug) and her children: Mike Phillips and Trish Rogers (Larry) and their children: Phillip and James Phillips of Somerset, KY; brother-in-law: Doyle Kidd and children: Paula and Paul Doyle and Carla, and Pamela and Crestin Burke and children: Jared and wife Kelsey, Tanner and Jonah Burke; Jackie and Kyle O’Neal and children: Shawn Tae and wife Wendy O’Neal, and Jonothon O’Neal; Susie and Tommy Blevins and daughters: Christy and Tommy Bandy, and Misty Blevins; nephews: David, Ronnie and Ricky Phillips; sister-in-law: Jeannie Phillips and her children: Derrick, Debbie, Rhonda, Jeff and Judy; and many other family members and special friends.

Friends may visit with the Phillips family Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dale Smith, Rev. Philip Kazee and Rev.

Steve Hodges officiating. After the service his cremains will be buried in the W. J. Jeffers Cemetery at a later date. In lieu-of-flowers, please donate to the Oneida High School Bass Fishing Team, 195 N. Bank St., Oneida, TN 37841.
