Kace A. Colvin, 28 of Lafayette passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 surrounded by his family in Franciscan Health Hospital Lafayette East in Lafayette, IN. Born on January 24, 1990 in Logansport, he is the son to Russ and Jonie (Kelley) Colvin. Kace worked as a welder at Wabash National.

He was a 2008 graduate of Logansport High School. Kace was a much-loved son, daddy, brother, grandson, cousin and friend. He cannot be defined by the heroin addiction that he hated and struggled to overcome.

Many will judge, but those are the ones that don’t understand what a powerful demon he was fighting. The family’s hope is that his spirit and strength be transferred to the recipients of his life-giving organs. Survivors include his parents, Russ and Jonie Colvin, Logansport; his beloved daughter, Madalyn Colvin, Winamac; sister, Megan (Tom) Glassburn, Logansport; paternal grandmother, Carolyn Colvin, Flora; maternal step grandmother, Karen DeLawter, Peru; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dick and Sandy Kelley; paternal grandfather Mike Colvin, and uncle Brad Kelley. A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 4, 2018 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Rev. Aaron Gross officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mt Hope Cemetery, Logansport. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 3, 2018, also in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Brady’s Hope, a non for profit involved in the battle to defeat drug abuse.
