Karen’s Obituary Karen Bean Hansen HUNTINGTON- Our loving, spunky, independent wife, mother and grandmother, Karen Bean Hansen, age 71, passed away on May 25, 2019. Karen was born on November 26, 1947 in Price, Utah to Arnold and Donna Fausett Bean. She was one of four children and grew up in Price, Utah.
She graduated from Carbon High School. Karen married Jim Hansen on April 15, 1965 in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
Together, they made their home in Huntington, Utah where they were blessed with three children, Jodi, Chris and Julie. Karen has five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Karen worked as a seamstress at Koret of California where she perfected her sewing skills.
Later on, she worked as a mail handler for twenty-five years for the USPS at the Huntington Post Office. Karen greatly enjoyed her job at the post office where she was able to interact with the residents of the community on a daily basis. Karen loved spending time with her family, visiting friends, playing cards and dominos and would be the first in the car for a trip.
She enjoyed spending time in her flower garden, canning, and cooking. She had the best potato salad, pumpkin cake, hello-dolly bars, carmel, and Thanksgiving stuffing. She was the life of every party.
Karen possessed the qualities of an independent, strong, and determined person that allowed her to continue loving, serving, and living her life to the fullest no matter what trial life threw at her. She loved unconditionally, was devoted to the service of others, and was always there to lend a listening ear. Her daily ensemble included matching her jewelry, cute hair do’s, and a Dr. Pepper in hand.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Karen, share a hot fudge sundae with your loved one.
