Obituary for Karen J. L’Heureux Karen J. L’Heureux, age 59 of Cary, passed away October 10, 2018. She was born March 13, 1959 in Chicago, the daughter of Harry and Jacquelyn Dinkelacker. Her father precedes her in death.

Karen is survived by her husband Thomas L’Heureux, her daughter Emily L’Heureux, her mother Jacquelyn Dinkelacker, and her brother Paul Dinkelacker. Karen attended Cary Grove High School, Eastern Illinois University, and Northern Illinois University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music performance. While at NIU she met her husband, Tom, and they were married in 1987.

They recently celebrated 31 years of marriage. Karen was extremely active in music – she played French horn in a brass quartet and piano at various churches. Karen was also a talented computer programmer and formed her own consulting company in the 1990’s.

After her daughter was born, Karen retired from the business world to focus on being a mom. Karen loved all animals but had a special love for her beloved cat Dixie. She also adored her dogs Cody and Buddy.

There will be a visitation for Karen on Wednesday, October 17th 2018 from 4pm – 8pm at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home located at 403 Silver Lake Rd, Cary, IL. The Funeral Service for Karen will be held on Thursday, October 18th at 10:30 AM at Cary United Methodist Church, 500 First St., Cary and will be followed with burial at Windridge Memorial Park. Memorials would be appreciated to Cary United Methodist Church’s music department.
