OBITUARY Katherine Kiggins May 25, 1931 – July 26, 2018 Katherine Kiggins of Garnerville, formerly from Orangeburg, NY, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2018 with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in St. Jerome’s Parish in The Bronx, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Bessie Devaney. Kay is survived by her devoted children, Thomas (Mary), Geraldine (Kevin Russo), Jack (Ann Marie) and Joanie (Kevin Greenwood), her cherished grandchildren Matthew, Peter (Michelle), Kaitlin (Derrick), John, Kristin, Jaclyn, and great-grandchildren Aubrey, Lyla and Jasper.

She is also survived by her loving sister, Mary (Joe Dwyer) and brother-in-law John Kiggins. Katherine married the love of her life, Thomas Kiggins (NYPD) in 1951, who passed away suddenly in 1972. Shortly thereafter, while raising her children, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Dominican College and her MSW from Fordham University, both with high honors.

Kay lived a blessed life, she was loved by many and will be missed by all. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at St. Peter and St. Mary Church in Haverstraw at 10AM Monday, followed by internment at Ascension Cemetery.
