Kathleen Green Whiteley , November 29, 1932 — February 20, 2019

Our beloved mother, grandmother and sister, Kathleen Green Whiteley returned home peacefully to her Heavenly Father on February 20, 2019. Kathleen was born in Pleasant Grove, Utah on November 29, 1932 to William Lewis and Myrtle Ivy Adamson Green. She was the youngest of seven children.

She had four sisters and two brothers. Kathleen married her high school sweetheart, Shyrlan T. Whiteley in the Salt Lake Temple on February 20, 1950 and that became “their” special day! Shyrlan passed away on February 20, 2011.

Mom was able to join him on February 20th to celebrate their anniversary together again. Together they had seven children. They worked hard raising their family, planting gardens and canning much of what they produced.

Kathleen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She spent her life serving and loving her family. She was a dedicated and outstanding homemaker.

She also loved to cook and shared that talent with many. She was an excellent seamstress and her children and grandchildren were recipients of her extraordinary talents. She loved supporting her family at sporting events, dance recitals, school programs, birthday parties and many other activities.

She was an avid sports fan and spent many hours watching BYU and the Jazz. She was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in various callings. She especially enjoyed loving and serving her ward as Relief Society President.

Kathleen is survived by her children Shyrleen (Michael) Shoell, Shelley (Boyd) Fenton, Kaylon (Jan) Whiteley, Laurel (Reid) Mitchell and Wayne (Lisa) Whiteley, 25 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren and one sister, Mary Gillman. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughters Hollie Kae and Jill, parents, siblings Elizabeth Palfreyman, David Green, Wilma Myers, Samuel Green, and Myrtle Hilton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove Stake Center Chapel, 500 South 275 East, Pleasant Grove with a viewing from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.

Family and friends may attend an evening viewing Monday, February 25, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.
