Kathleen Ridenhour, November 03, 1914 — December 10, 2018

Obituary for Kathleen Ridenhour Mrs. Kathleen Overcash Deaver Ridenhour, 104, a life long resident of Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 10, 2018. Kathleen was born in Rowan County on November 3, 1914. She was a daughter of the late Hubert Kenneth Overcash and Laura Garver Overcash.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Earnest Deaver and John Ridenhour; two daughters, Becky Jo Deaver Smith and Jane Ridenhour Mitchell; as well as her four siblings, Mary Frances Correll, Clara Vanderford, Merle Overcash and Kenny Overcash. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church. Rev.

John Futterer will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Mount Moriah Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Saturday prior to the service in the church.

Mrs. Ridenhour is survived by four grandchildren, Scott Smith and wife Paige, David Smith and wife Cathy, Laura Smith and John Mitchell; as well as four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Kathleen had worked at Central Motor Lines, Durham Life Insurance and retired from Zayre Department Store. She was a long-standing member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church.

She loved to travel with friends and created hundreds of cross-stitch gifts and baked goods to share. Her famous oatmeal cookies were always available to anyone who visited. Her last four years were spent at Caremoor Retirement Center.
