Kathy Elaine Mabrey July 29, 1952 – May 24, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Katherine “Kathy” Elaine Mabrey age 66 of Oklahoma City, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019 after a brief illness at Southwest Medical Center in OKC. Kathy was born on July 29, 1952 in Dallas, Texas. She was the 5th child of eight children born to Leon Williams and Mae LaVelle (Turner) Williams.
Kathy was raised by her mother LaVelle and step-father J. W. Tucker. She grew up in South OKC and attended Capitol Hills Schools. At a young age she married and started a family, raising three children.
Kathy lived in the South OKC area most of her life except for 16 years she lived in Texas. While living in the OKC area she worked at various jobs and was a homemaker. For a short time she was married to Mr. Rawlings and some years later she was married to Roy Stookey.
After Roy passed away, she married Sam Mabrey and together they moved to Fort Worth, Texas. While living in Texas she worked as a Cashier at Luby’s Cafeteria and when Sam became ill she carried for him. After Sam passed away she moved back to OKC in 2009, to be close to her family and for the past several years she has lived in the Shartel Towers in South OKC.
Throughout her life, Kathy was an avid reader and loved spending time at the public library. While her children were growing up her family enjoyed going fishing and camping at different lakes in Oklahoma. While living in OKC, Kathy attended South Lindsay Baptist Church and most recently she attended OKC Dominion Christian Center.
She loved her family and valued her time spent with them. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by: Father, Leon Williams, Mother and step-father, LaVelle and J.W. Tucker.
Husbands, Roy Stookey and Sam Mabrey. Three brothers, Donald, Galen and Ted Williams. One grandson, Jacob James Rawlings.
She is survived by: Three children, Steven Rawlings of Tuttle, Stacy Stookey and wife Taffney of Norman, Tracy Ross and husband Haskell of Yukon. Three brothers, David Williams of Kingston, OK. Roy Williams of Choctaw, Troy Williams of McLoud.
One sister, Sandra Brown of OKC. One sister-in-law, Rosemary Williams of Wanette. Six grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Byars Cemetery in Byars, OK. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.
