KATIE LEE MARTIN July 07, 1939 – May 07, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Services for Mrs. Katie Lee Miller Martin, 79, of Kansas City, KS former of St. Joseph, LA will be held Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 1:00pm from the Bell Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Hwy 128 in St. Joseph, LA. Burial will follow at the Union Fraternal Cemetery in St. Joseph under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, LA. The Rev.

Adrian Lundy will officiate. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 11:00am to service time at the church. Mrs. Martin, daughter of George and Martha Jones Miller was born in St. Joseph and died at her daughter’s residence in Kansas City.

She a faithful and dedicated member of Bell Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she also served on the Mother’s Board. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Deacon Matthew “Daddy Map” Martin, two brothers, George and James Miller. Mrs. Martin leaves to cherish her memories: her children, James Martin and his wife, Sue; Freddie Martin.

Elnora Martin and Betty Martin Jones and her husband Bruce all of Las Vegas, NV; Willie Martin, Donelle Martin and his wife, Patricia, Michael Martin, Constance Martin all of Ruston, LA; Mary Ann Martin and her husband, Troy Moore of Chicago, IL; Diane Martin of Kansas City, KS. Two sisters, Bertha Miller of Monroe, LA and Annie Lee Miller of Tallulah, LA. She was blessed with twenty three grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Don’t think of her as gone away, her journey’s just begun, Life holds so many facets, this earth is only one. Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears In a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away.

And think of her as living on in the hearts of those she touched. . .

for nothing loved is never lost and she was loved so very, very much.
