Keith Sox, 52, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, May 25, 2019 at his sister’s home in Lexington, SC. Keith was the son of the late Raymond Eugene Sox and Katherine Thompson Sox. He was an active member of Brookland United Methodist Church on Meeting Street in West Columbia.

A graduate of Airport High School, Keith was an avid Gamecock fan. After graduation, Keith went to work for the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company where he painted trucks. He retired from Pepsi to help in the care of his parents during their illnesses.

That’s what Keith thrived on…care giving. He cared for and loved everyone he met but he had a special place in his heart for the older generation. His most precious and closest friend during his last time on earth was Mrs. Sylvia Goodwin.

She helped Keith during the years after his mother and father passed away. Mrs. Sylvia graduated from high school with his father and became a surrogate mother to him. Keith is survived by his older sister, Lisa Coleman (David); his niece, Krista Cox (Divine); his nephew, Hunter Coleman; his three great-nephews, DJ, Donovan, and Kameron; five aunts, two uncles, and nine cousins.

There will be a visitation to celebrate Keith’s life on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, from 6-8 pm at Barr-Price Funeral home, Lexington, SC. The funeral will be Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 1:00pm in the Chapel at Barr-Price Funeral home with internment following at Celestial Memorial Gardens.
