Kelly Renee Thomas Cox, 41 of Sanford peacefully passed away Sunday September 16, 2018. Arrangements are pending at this time. Kelly is survived by her husband, Shannon K. Cox; her parents, Grace Smith Thomas and the late Jerry Wayne Thomas; sister, Leslie Nicole Thomas; furry companions, Molly, Zoe, and will be accompanied to heaven by her beloved Kate; her in-laws, Ronny and Linda Cox of Sanford; brother in law, Adam Corey Cox and wife Lisa Berrie Cox of San Diego, CA; She was preceded in death by her granny, Clara P. Smith; Papa, John Wheeler Smith; grandfather, Edward Warren Thomas and Nanny, Nellie S. Thomas.

Kelly also is survived by a large loving family including, Dwight and Sandra, Jackie and the late Clayborn and Dawn; Marie and Johnny; Peggy and the late Nelson; the late Uncle Lee; Guy and Brenda, and Johnny and Jeanette. Memorial contributions can be made to the SECU Jim & Nancy Bryan Hospice Home of UNC Health Care, 100 Roundtree Way, Pittsboro, NC 27312.
