Kenneth Childers, age 74, of Taylorsville passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. He was born on July 12, 1944, the son of the late Oscar & Georgie Laws. During his career, Kenneth worked and owned for KC Furniture Frames and was of the Baptist faith.

He had a special love for his family and loved to cook, watch Nascar, and westerns. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Shirley Ann Huffman; sister Alice; and brother Charlie. Those left to cherish his memory include his son Kenneth Huffman and Amanda Morgan; step-son Ricky & Billy Huffman; daughter Linda Starr & husband Jr; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister Lorene Mays; brother James Matheson all of Taylorsville; along with a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Alexander Funeral Service. No formal funeral service is planned. Cremation will follow.
