Kenneth Edwin Gallock, 82, of Sylvania, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018. Ken, affectionately known as Bompee, was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 5, 1936. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Mildred Gallock.
He was a devoted husband for almost 60 years to Peggy Gallock. Ken will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his family unselfishly.
His greatest joy in life was his beloved family and spending time with them. He leaves behind his adoring family to cherish his memory. He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; daughter Vicki (Matthew) Hogrefe of Sylvania, Ohio; granddaughter Paige (Anthony) Peace of Sylvania, Ohio; and great-grandchildren Gabriel, Emerson and Beckett.
Ken was a member of Liberty Baptist Church for over 60 years where he considered it a privilege and a blessing to serve his Lord in many capacities. He was currently serving as Deacon for the last four years and a trustee for many years. He took special joy in keeping the floors and carpets looking their best.
Ken loved his Lord and his church. Working at Mellocraft was a family affair. His father worked there for many years.
Ken started out sweeping the warehouse as a young boy and worked his way up waiting on customers in the store. He then became a salesman for the company, a sales trainer, sales manager and then Vice President of sales. For over 60 years he loved every minute of each endeavor.
He loved his customers and counted them all as friends. Ken served his country in the United States Army Reserve. He enjoyed his free time golfing and was a member of Sylvania Country Club for over 20 years.
Ken was an avid bowler and bowled in many leagues though the years. He held season tickets for Rockets football and basketball and was president of The Downtown Coaches Association in 2006. He was a sponsor of Promedica Hickman Cancer Center on the Flower Hospital Campus.
Giving his life to the Lord, Ken was an active Christian since he was a young man. He was outgoing and social, always extending a warm welcome to family and friends- he was more than generous with his time, affection, and means. He will be missed immeasurably by his loving family.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 at The Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 Main St., Sylvania, OH. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Liberty Baptist Church, 5501 Jackman Rd. , Toledo, OH, Pastor Bryan Shaffer, officiating.
Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Baptist Church or a charity of the Donor’s Choice.
