Ken earned an athletic scholarship to play basketball for Dennison University, and later earned a contract with the Washington Senators Baseball Farm Team, until he was drafted to serve honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Once he was discharged from the Army, he completed his degree in Business at the University of Dayton.
He previously worked as a Credit Manager for Standard Register in Dayton until retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife of 42 years, Olga (Hornis). Ken was an avid sports fan and kept up with them everyday by reading the sports page of the paper before reading the rest in its entirety. He was particularly fond of the Cincinnati Reds and the U.D. Flyers. When he wasn’t at the horse races or dog races, you could find him on the golf course, playing golf or in his condo on the 4th hole in Florida.
Ken will be remembered for the deep love he had for his family and for his quiet, kind, sweet, and generous spirit, and his funny story-telling ability. Ken’s cremated remains interred in Davids Cemetery. We will celebrate Ken’s life at Conner & Koch Life Celebration Home, 92 W Franklin St, Bellbrook, OH 45305 on Sunday September 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
