Lewis, 83, died peacefully with his family by his side at his home on Sunday, December 2, 2018. He was born and raised in Plainfield and had resided in Martinsville since 1963. Ken was a plumber and had worked with the Plumbers Union No.

24 in Newark for many years, retiring in 1997. He attended the Martinsville Presbyterian Church and was a member and Past Commander of the Martinsville V.F.W. Post No 6588 and had also served as Quartermaster. Ken was active in his community and served as a Boy Scout leader, a longtime member of the Martinsville Rescue Squad, as well as serving as a coach for baseball and football in Bridgewater.

He was an active bowler for many years. He served his country in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was the husband of Jean C. Mushko Lewis who died in 2005 and the brother of the late Robert Lewis and David Lewis.

His family includes his wife, June R. Stein Lewis; a daughter, Linda J. Carr and a son, Kenneth D. Lewis and his wife Carol; two step-daughters, Anna Rice and Norma Sessler; a step-son, Bill Sessler; two sisters, Elizabeth Stranzenbach and Edith Sandelier; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A Service will be held at The Mundy Funeral Home, 142 Dunellen Avenue, Dunellen on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Interment with military honors will be at the Springdale Cemetery, Warren.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the funeral home. The family has requested that memorial donations may be made to the Martinsville Rescue Squad, 1771 Washington Valley Road, Martinsville, NJ, 08836.
