Akron – Kenneth W. Webb, 78, went home to be with his Lord on June 26, 2018 after a valiant battle with cancer. Ken was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, active church leader and businessman that will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Ken was born March 3, 1940 in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada where he grew up with his parents, brother and two sisters attending school and church and began to work at a young age.
At the age of 16, Ken trusted the Lord Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior. After marrying Joanne (Bercaw) Webb in 1960, Ken relocated to Akron and worked hard to build two very successful businesses, in mold design as well as new home construction. Ken’s life revolved around family and God.
His devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren was unparalleled and his happiest moments were when he was surrounded by his family. Ken was also extremely active in his church, The Akron Gospel Hall. He was always present for church services, driving children to and from Sunday School and children’s meetings, preaching the gospel and ministering to the needs of the Christians at any time of day or night.
Ken was a student of God’s word, spending countless hours in Bible study, which gave him the ability to be an outstanding teacher of the principles and truths of the Holy Scriptures. Ken will be remembered as a man of God and a man of integrity. His words and his life always matched.
The example that he set for his children and grandchildren will positively impact many generations to come. Other attributes that Ken often displayed were an unbelievable work ethic, wry sense of humor, extreme generosity, a gentle spirit, and his ability to apply wisdom to challenging situations. His loss will be felt deeply by his family, friends, congregation, and community.
Ken was preceded in death by his father, John (Jack) Webb; mother, Marion Webb (Rawlings); daughter, Deborah (Prough) Webb; brother-in-law, Robert Woods, and his sister-in-law, Keitha Webb. Ken will be lovingly remembered by his dear wife of nearly 58 years, Joanne; and his children, Heather Webb, Tim (Tracey) Webb and Beth (Mark) Minkus; grandchildren, Katie, Ryan and Riley Webb, Natalie and Sophie Prough and Danielle, Hannah and Caitlin Minkus; as well as his brother, Robert; sisters, Thelma Metcalf and Helen Woods, and countless other nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
