Lowell Moss Lowell Moss,71, passed away on June 4, 2018 after a long illness. He was born on October 19, 1946 in Akron and was a life-long resident. After graduating from Archbishop Hoban High School (’64) he was drafted, served in Vietnam, and attended The University of Akron.

Lowell married his grade school classmate and true love, Judy Hutnik in 1975. Daughter, Ann and son, John were the joy of his life. He was a member of the Akron Men’s Garden Club, St. Hilary Parish, The War Memorial Committee of Springfield Township, and VFW Post 349.

Lowell was a consummate gardener and patriot who daily embodied the Boy Scout Oath. He was preceded in death by his sister, Laura. He is survived by his wife, Judith Ann Moss; daughter, Ann Louise Manby; son, John Anthony Moss; and granddaughter, Courtney Louise Manby, (who dearly called him “Stache” due to his iconic mustache); as well as siblings, Loren, Leon, Ruth, Lester, Rita, Larry, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Calling hours 4-8pm Friday at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd, Fairlawn. Mass of Christian Burial 10am Saturday June 9 at St. Hilary Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Fairlawn VFW Post 349 or to a charity of your choice.
