Obituary for Kenneth Wayne Peters Kenneth Wayne Peters, of Jonesborough, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at his home. He was born on August 21, 1948 in Goodland, KS, the son of Elmer and Vera (Charles) Peters. They preceded him in death along with his infant son, Steven Peters, and his brother, Terry Peters, his brother-in-law, Clarence Atkins, and his sister-in-law, Dee Peters.

Mr. Peters moved to the Johnson City area in 2001, from Middlebury, IN. He worked for many years for Fastec Industrial Supply, and then worked at Lowes in Jonesborough for three years. He was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Johnson City, and was very active in the Middlebury Men’s Club, and was a volunteer fireman and a reserve police officer while living in Indiana.

Ken always was helping others and enjoyed being able to do so. Mr. Peters is survived by his wife, Marcia (Bowers), of Jonesborough; his children, Jason Peters, of Shipshewana, IN, Jeffrey Peters (and his wife, Michelle), of Kendallville, IN, Andrea Bowers (and her husband, Tim), of Elkhart, IN; five grandchildren, Daniel Peters, Kayden Peters, Ryann Peters, Taylon Bowers, and Tenley Bowers; his sisters, Phyllis Zweygardt (and her husband, Harvey), Erma Atkins, Karen Winter, Vickie Engel (and her husband, Don); his brothers, Larry Peters, Roger Peters, Rod Peters (and his wife, Rita), Rick Peters (and his wife, Cindy), and Randy Peters (and his wife, Becky); along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A Celebration of Life service for Mr. Peters will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018 at 5:00 pm, at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 212 Sunset Drive, Johnson City, TN 37604, with Pastor Ed Myers and Pastor Jim Nipper officiating.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, at the church, from 3:00 pm to the time of service. A committal service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Johnson City, TN, or to Ballad Home Health Hospice Care, Johnson City, TN.
