Kevin Donnell Keith of Mead, OK passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in Denison, TX at the age of 51. He was born on September 10, 1967 to Gayle Mattingly Townsend and Larry Keith. A lifelong resident of Bryan County, Kevin (also known as “Cornbread” to family and friends) attended Colbert High School and transferred to Durant High School to play football until graduation.

He furthered his education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. After college he went to a work at Pillsbury, where he worked for 18 years until they closed then went on to a few different positions that include; truck driver, Haliburton in the oil field, hauling hay. His proudest title was being a dad and grandpa.

He loved his family and cherished the time spent with them. Kevin was a fisherman and an avid sports fan. If he wasn’t doing those two, he could be found sitting around and “shootin’ the bull”.

He is preceded in death by his dad, Danny Mattingly; grandparents, Viola and William Keith and Jewel Gilley Houser and Bill Gilley. Loved ones left behind to cherish Kevin’s memory include his mother Gayle Mattingly Townsend and dad Eddie of Mead, OK; father, Larry Keith and wife, Tana of San Angelo, TX; daughters, Ashley Keith- Hellinghausen and husband Austen of Anna, TX and Shanequa Keith of Durant, OK; Son, Preston Wilson of Sherman siblings, Greg Townsend and wife Janet of Calera, OK; Terry Keith and wife Shannon of Colbert, OK; Trent Townsend and wife Lisa of Mead, OK; Lori Reid and husband Stacy of Durant, OK; Michelle Guyer and husband Randy of Silo, OK; and Robbie Mattingly and wife Jenae of Bells, TX; grandsons, Wyatt and William Hellinghausen; nieces and nephews, Brooklynn Gorman, Brendan Gorman, Bryan Gorman, Chase Usrey, Devin Usrey, Macie Mattingly, Creed Mattingly, and KC Guyer; great-nieces and nephews, Britlee Smith, Paislee Meorsch, and Bentlee Meorsch; aunt and uncle Joe and Charlotte Nichols along with extended family members and dear friends. Services to honor Kevin’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Greg Holley officiating.

Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Terrance Keith, Robbie Mattingly, Stanley Perry, David Drumm, Brian Baxter, Tim Fullen, Mike Washer, and Chris Brede serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Townsend, Brendan Gorman, Bryan Gorman, KC Guyer, and Creed Mattingly. The family will accept friends Saturday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
